Case Study: XMission achieves enhanced security and privacy with Zimbra Collaboration

A Zimbra Case Study

Preview of the XMission Case Study

XMission Enhances Commitment to Customer Security and Privacy

XMission, a Salt Lake City–based managed services provider that owns and operates its own data center and network, sought to move beyond email-only offerings to deliver a secure, unified communications platform for SMBs. Customers were asking for integrated calendaring, contacts and file‑sharing, while XMission needed an open, customizable solution that supported rapid deployment, strong security and new revenue opportunities.

XMission adopted Zimbra Collaboration—an open source, open-standards platform—adding features like SSL/TLS, native S/MIME, granular spam/virus controls and a custom Zimlet for extra spam filtering and integration. The deployment supported tens of thousands of mailboxes in 28 countries, improved customer productivity and mobility, enabled easy branding and customization, and drove business growth through better service, scalability and word-of-mouth referrals.
