Taiwan International Gateway Corporation (TIGC) is a Taiwan‑based telecom provider that operates international submarine cable leases and voice services. As the company grew, its open‑source FreeBSD email system became difficult to maintain and lacked integrated features (calendar invites, VoIP integration), creating risks for a business‑critical messaging platform and slowing internal workflows and decision‑making.

TIGC deployed Zimbra Collaboration to unify email, calendaring, file sharing and real‑time tools, and integrated it with Cisco Jabber for VoIP. The new platform simplified administration, sped up interdepartmental scheduling and document collaboration, improved response times and decision speed, lowered communication costs, and strengthened TIGC’s customer service competitiveness.
