Pak-Qatar Chooses Zimbra for Lower TCO and Open Source Core

Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited is a fast-growing, Shari’ah-compliant financial services firm in Pakistan that needed to replace its legacy IBM Lotus Notes environment. As a BFSI customer unwilling to move to the cloud, the company sought an on‑premises, enterprise-grade, open‑source collaboration platform with strong security and a lower total cost of ownership, evaluating Zimbra and Microsoft Exchange before selecting Zimbra.

Pak-Qatar implemented Zimbra Collaboration and Zimbra Talk for about 670 mailboxes with local partner NDS Technologies, using S/MIME, delegated administration, Briefcase, mobile access and remote‑wipe/Mobile Device Management to meet security, privacy and sharing needs. The deployment centralized messaging and collaboration, reduced licensing and TCO (including Outlook savings via Zimbra Desktop), and improved user flexibility and adoption while enabling future expansion of video conferencing and add‑on capabilities.
