¡HOLA! Publishing Exceeds Global Collaboration Needs with Zimbra

HOLA S.L., a 70‑year‑old publishing company with over 400 employees and offices in Madrid, Barcelona, London and Mexico City, needed to replace a basic email system that lacked customization and collaboration. The company sought an open, user‑friendly platform that would support calendaring, file sharing and webmail, integrate with existing open source components (Postfix, OpenLDAP, MySQL, Tomcat), handle IMAP/TLS and allow self‑management on a tight budget.

HOLA deployed Zimbra Collaboration as a centrally managed, open source solution (initially on SuSE, now on Ubuntu VMs), consolidating about 400 mailboxes across hola.com and hellomagazine.com. Zimbra provided email, calendar and address book sync, distribution lists, fine‑grained access control and smooth integration with other tools (Salesforce, Exchange, Google), and delivered improved UI and unified collaboration; HOLA now runs a failover setup, plans high availability and S/MIME, and endorses Zimbra for companies committed to open standards.
