Höhn Drops Microsoft Exchange for Zimbra’s Lower Costs, Safer Environment and Extensibility

Höhn, a German automotive accessories group with more than 200 employees, sought to replace Microsoft Exchange to lower licensing, operations and hardware costs, improve email security—especially against ransomware—and ensure seamless integration with its open source tools (notably Redmine) used across three companies.

They tested and deployed Zimbra Network Edition, integrating it with Redmine and leveraging Zimbra’s open-source platform and web client (plus ActiveSync/IMAP/CardDav/CalDav) to reduce client‑side risk. Early results include lower operating costs and gains in user productivity and mobility; Höhn plans to expand Zimbra across its companies and add Zimbra Chat and further integrations with Redmine and Nuclos.
