Future Group Scales Collaboration with Zimbra

Future Group, one of India’s largest retailers with 30,000 employees and operations in 93 cities and rural locations, needed a cost-effective way to scale email collaboration as the company grew. After evaluating alternatives to Microsoft Exchange, they sought a solution with lower cost of ownership, simpler administration, open API integration and flexible licensing.

Working with Zimbra and partner HCL, Future Group migrated 25,000 mailboxes to Zimbra in phased rollout, adopting web-based mail with a native offline client, advanced search and HSM for larger mailboxes. The move saved about ₹2 crore (≈ $350,000) in licensing, cut security and data-governance incidents by 30%, reduced email support calls by 50%, and improved administration and user experience.
