Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) is an Indonesian government-owned bank specializing in housing finance, with about 10,000 employees across 800 offices. BTN’s in‑house email system struggled to meet growing needs for mobility, security, capacity planning and vendor-independent solutions required by Bank Indonesia regulations, and the IT team lacked reliable external support.

BTN deployed Zimbra Collaboration through authorized reseller PT. Jabetto Maraya, rolling out around 10,250 mailboxes integrated with Microsoft Exchange across its offices. Zimbra’s open-source platform delivered mobility, improved security (including delegated administration and encryption options), HA/DR and layered antispam, boosting employee productivity through mobile and web access, reducing costs compared with other vendors, and providing strong local support.
