Agora SA Increases Email Speed and Reliability by Replacing Groupwise with Zimbra Collaboration

Agora SA, publisher of Poland’s largest daily Gazeta Wyborcza and the free Metro, needed a faster, more reliable and less expensive email and collaboration platform for its 4,000 employees across 20 offices. Groupwise no longer met the newsroom’s demands for speed, stability and mobile access, so Agora sought a solution that would improve reliability, reduce costs and support work-from-anywhere devices.

Agora deployed Zimbra Collaboration on Linux with VMware virtualization and ActiveSync mobile support. The switch delivered faster, more stable mail, lower operating costs and fewer failures, with each mail server now supporting up to 5,000 users; administration and mass changes became simpler, and staff gained full email, calendar and contact access on Android, iOS and Windows devices.
