Applied Materials, a leader in materials engineering solutions, faced a significant challenge due to a lack of automation in its IT operations. The company used numerous tools from different vendors, and the exchange of data between systems like Micro Focus OpsBridge, SolarWinds, and ServiceNow was largely manual, requiring massive human effort. To resolve this, they sought an existing software solution from a vendor to automate these internal processes without any in-house development. They selected ZigiWave and its Integration Hub product after a proof-of-concept phase.

The ZigiWave implementation team set up all integrations and went live within two business weeks. The solution automated the synchronization of configuration items and the flow of metrics and events, providing an end-to-end overview of the environment. It also automated incident creation and resolution between Ops Bridge and ServiceNow, adding duplication prevention. The result was a simplified workflow for NOC operators, fewer human errors, and better application availability due to improved problem detection and resolution times. Due to this success, ZigiWave later developed a custom feature for synchronizing incidents to SAP Solution Manager.
