Case Study: Système U improves warehouse productivity and order accuracy with Zetes voice picking

Seasonality under control with untrained voice picking systems at Système U

Système U Sud, part of the French retailer Système U, needed to improve order preparation quality while boosting warehouse productivity, especially as seasonal peaks brought in many temporary workers. To support this challenge, the company worked with Zetes and its voice-directed logistics solution, using 3iV Voice technology with Motorola WT4090 terminals and VOW wearables.

Zetes implemented an untrained voice picking system that let new and temporary operators start working immediately without pre-recording voice profiles, while multi-modal terminals allowed the same devices to be reused across different warehouse tasks. The results were visible within three months, with fewer picking errors, higher productivity, reduced administrative interruptions, and faster training; the solution was then extended to deep-freeze operations, where 48 operators worked at -28°C, and to a new warehouse deployment with 100 VOW terminals.
