P&O Ferries gets onboard with Zetes voice picking solution

P&O Ferries needed a faster, more accurate way to manage warehouse picking across a uniquely challenging Dover site with ambient, chilled and frozen areas. Working with Zetes, the company looked to replace its legacy mix of handheld terminals and paper-based processes with a voice-enabled picking approach that could improve efficiency during the busy summer season.

Zetes implemented its 3i Voice Solution using Vocollect TS Talkman devices, integrated with P&O Ferries’ Oracle eBiz system. The result was a 20% overall efficiency gain, with improvements of 40-50% in freezer operations, plus reduced errors and better inventory control. Training time also dropped sharply, with new users reaching full efficiency in around two hours instead of two days.
