McCulla Ireland is first ‘cool warehouse’ to implement voice directed working

McCulla Ireland, a leading independent third-party logistics provider for the temperature-controlled food industry, needed a more flexible warehouse picking process that could be tailored to each client’s costing and billing requirements. The company had been using handheld terminals and wanted to improve accuracy, efficiency, and service levels in its “cool warehouse” operations. Zetes provided the voice directed working solution, using Zetes’ 3iV Crystal voice technology and Vocollect Talkman devices.

Zetes implemented its voice picking solution integrated with McCulla’s Accellos WMS to deliver real-time visibility, flexible pick processes, and more accurate warehouse operations. The result was expected picking and dispatch accuracy of 99.5% or better, reduced man-hours for stock counts through perpetual inventory management, and a fast return on investment. Zetes said the system would help McCulla improve KPIs, reduce costs, and strengthen profitability.
