Case Study: IKEA improves supply chain accuracy with Zetes track and trace solution

A Zetes Case Study

Preview of the IKEA Case Study

IKEA - Customer Case Study

IKEA Distribution Services Limited, the UK distributor for IKEA, needed greater accuracy, traceability, and customer service visibility as delivery volumes grew rapidly with its e-commerce rollout. Its paper-based delivery process was causing frequent errors, lost visibility of stock, and delays in resolving customer issues, so IKEA turned to Zetes for a track-and-trace and proof-of-delivery solution.

Zetes implemented its Nucleus IS solution on rugged handheld devices and in-truck printers, integrated with IKEA’s Home Delivery Management system to capture deliveries, exceptions, signatures, and return/damage data in real time. The result was the elimination of manual data entry, stronger proof of delivery, faster issue resolution, and better supply chain visibility; IKEA also scaled from about 400 deliveries per day in 2006 to more than 900 per day, or roughly 325,000 deliveries per year.
