Zerto, an enterprise IT resilience platform provider, struggled with time-consuming, manual forecasting and purchasing of AWS Reserved Instances (RIs) across instance families, OS types, and multiple accounts. To automate RI management and improve savings, Zerto engaged Zesty and its Cloud Cost Optimization technology, including the automated Commitment Manager.
Zesty analyzed Zerto’s AWS usage (via CloudWatch/CloudTrail), automatically bought and sold commitments, and added EC2 Scheduler and S3 Explorer to reduce waste. In eight months Zerto cut EC2 costs by 40%, eliminated hundreds of manual man‑hours spent on RI optimization, and now has all AWS accounts continuously optimized by Zesty.
