Sennder, a leading digital freight forwarder, faced significant challenges with Kubernetes efficiency on their AWS EKS clusters. Despite using Zesty Commitment Manager for cost control, manual pod resource tuning was ineffective and did not scale. Engineering teams routinely over-requested CPU and memory to stay safe, leading to low utilization and performance issues like CPU throttling cascades that disrupted their logistics operations.

Zesty implemented its automated Pod Rightsizing solution, which was designed to be compatible with Sennder's KEDA-based autoscaling. The solution was easily integrated via a Helm chart and rolled out safely using opt-in selectors. As a result, Sennder reduced its cluster size by up to 43%, eliminated CPU throttling, and removed the need for manual resource tuning, achieving meaningful cost savings and operational efficiency.
