A Zest Case Study
The Decathlon store in Saint-Pierre, managed by Thomas Lamorte, faced the challenge of making its annual performance review process more agile and meaningful. The store director wanted to move away from a once-a-year evaluation and instead create a culture of regular, reciprocal feedback between the 16 managers and 150 employees, aligning with the company's dynamic values. To achieve this HR transformation, Decathlon sought an intuitive digital tool and partnered with the vendor Zest.
Zest provided its Perform module to implement a new "3+1" approach, consisting of three quarterly check-ins to complement the annual review. The solution facilitated regular exchanges, written goal tracking, peer recognition, and accountability. As a result, employees became more involved and accountable, defining their own objectives and receiving real-time coaching. The process ensured everyone was better prepared for annual reviews, eliminated surprises, and strengthened a sense of belonging and purpose.
