A Zerto Case Study

Zerto enables ARA to migrate its missioncritical applications and servers

Austin Radiological Association (ARA) is a Central Texas medical imaging provider serving 17 outpatient centers and 20 hospitals that must operate as a highly available, 24/7 digital enterprise. When its datacenter lease expired, ARA faced a tight deadline to move both its primary and backup datacenters without disrupting roughly 200 applications across 250 virtual machines, requiring rapid migration, minimal downtime, and a documented disaster-recovery plan.

ARA used Zerto Virtual Replication to orchestrate replication, failover and failback, leveraging continuous data protection and tunable RPOs to manage sync and recover from issues during the move. The team completed the twin datacenter migration over two weekends in July 2014—moving the primary in about 6–7 hours—reducing migration time by 97%, avoiding significant service impact, and simplifying ongoing datacenter management.
