South Carolina State Credit Union Supports Core Banking with Zerto

South Carolina State Credit Union (SCSCU), which serves more than 85,000 members and manages over $1 billion in assets, needed to modernize IT to guarantee always-on core banking services. The credit union faced a complex migration—moving production VMs between a legacy production site, a new production site, and a DR site—while replacing tape-based backups, avoiding lengthy RPOs/RTOs, and ensuring a reliable emergency failover capability.

SCSCU implemented Zerto to handle migrations and provide continuous data protection and automated failover. Zerto enabled the migration of dozens of VMs, protected more than 80% of applications (40+ VMs) including core databases and banking software, and delivered immediate failover and long-term retention. The result was a fully modernized infrastructure with simplified compliance through automated failover testing and reporting, and dramatically reduced recovery times.
