A Zerto Case Study
One of the world’s largest insurance companies, with thousands of employees and a global footprint of 150+ subsidiaries and datacenters, needed a modern disaster recovery approach after its previous DR location became unavailable. The organisation required geo-diverse DR that could use Azure as a DR site, allow application owners to run tests during business hours, protect high‑transaction database servers that backups couldn’t handle, and meet strict RPO/RTO and regional data‑governance requirements (including China).
The company deployed Zerto, migrating its DR site to Frankfurt and enabling replication to Azure (North America, South Africa and future China) and long‑term retention to AWS for heavy‑load databases. Zerto’s asynchronous replication delivered RPOs measured in seconds, simple self-service DR testing with compliance reports, automation of error-prone DR tasks, elimination of risky synchronous mirroring, and significant cost savings by leveraging public cloud resources.
