A Zerto Case Study
Muskegon Central Dispatch 9-1-1 serves about 172,000 residents of Muskegon County, coordinating response across multiple fire, police and ambulance agencies and operating 24/7 with a mix of full- and part-time staff. Faced with the need to guarantee the fastest possible RPOs/RTOs to protect public safety, they also had a limited IT budget and required granular file-level restores without lengthy backup restores.
They replaced a snapshot-based DR approach with Zerto Virtual Replication running on Tegile storage, protecting 25 VMs and critical services (SQL, Exchange, fileshares, records). The change delivered a 9‑second RPO versus 4 hours previously, cut storage footprint by 50%, and completed a proof-of-concept in 10 hours, with a DR site 26 miles from production.
