MedOne Deploys Zerto to Save Customer’s Company from Ransomware

MedOne is an Israeli managed datacenter and cloud provider (MedOne Cloud) that specializes in business continuity and data protection for local companies. When a medical equipment and software customer suffered a major ransomware attack in March 2021—encrypting 15 production servers, multiple workstations and about 20 TB of data—their operations faced a potential 30–40 day data loss and service shutdown.

MedOne deployed Zerto’s continuous data protection and point-in-time failover tools to pinpoint a five-minute encryption window, enable endpoint and antivirus updates, and perform a rapid failover. The customer was restored to full production within an hour with virtually no data loss, then migrated off on-premises backups to MedOne Cloud with separate production and DR environments; future server migrations using Zerto are completed in hours instead of days.
