ME - Customer Case Study

ME Bank, a customer-owned Australian bank serving over 340,000 customers, faced increasing pressure to maintain near-constant uptime as mobile and internet banking usage grew. Their existing disaster recovery (DR) setup was complex and resource-intensive, required full-site failovers for testing, and did not provide confidence that tests reflected real-world recovery scenarios.

Working with VMtech, ME implemented Zerto Virtual Replication to deliver hypervisor-based, VM-level protection and an isolated DR test environment (including VMware and a virtual Palo Alto firewall). The solution enabled application-level testing without impacting production, reduced recovery time to under 45 minutes with near-real-time replication (RPO in seconds), lowered DR testing and licensing costs, simplified operations, and allowed more frequent, reliable DR tests while supporting future multi-hypervisor and cloud mobility.
