Hackney Learning Trust Maximises New Infrastructure ROI with Zerto Virtual Replication

Hackney Learning Trust, which supports education and services for around 27,000 children across 75 schools in the London Borough of Hackney, planned a full server, storage and fabric refresh but found its existing business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) solution could not meet new service levels or future growth. With two datacentres linked by a 100 Mbps WAN and no desire to rework networking or application architectures, the IT team needed a scalable, non-disruptive BC/DR solution that could be tested easily and reliably protect mission-critical systems like SQL Server, Exchange and Oracle.

Meridian IT deployed Zerto Virtual Replication for 80 VMs, delivering journal-based recovery, sub-10-second RPOs and minute-level RTOs without upgrading the WAN. The quick install, one-click testing, web-based management and automated failover/failback reduced operational effort and costs, increased utilisation of the new infrastructure and gave the Trust confidence in its BC/DR posture—maximising ROI on their IT investment.
