Comune di Mira Ensure Consistent Protection Despite Infrastructure Constraints

Comune di Mira, a municipality of about 38,000 people with 150 staff across three sites, was struggling to protect 5 TB of critical data and multi‑VM applications over heterogeneous infrastructures and constrained networks (4–25 Mbps). Traditional nightly backups were unreliable—consuming scarce bandwidth, often failing to complete, and leaving RPOs and RTOs measured in hours or days.

Partnering with Computerland, Mira deployed Zerto Virtual Replication, a lightweight, agentless, block‑level replication solution that continuously replicates compressed VM changes without snapshots. The result: non‑disruptive replication across a 4 Mbps link with a 50‑second RPO and ~1‑hour RTO, unified management across three sites, consistent multi‑VM recovery, and significantly reduced testing and maintenance overhead.
