Barossa City Council Keeps Community Running with Zerto

The Barossa Council, which serves a premium wine, food and tourism region and delivers a wide range of community services, faced an infrastructure refresh and needed to re-evaluate its disaster recovery (DR) strategy. Their existing DR site was less resilient than production (power, cooling) and costly to maintain, so availability in a disaster could not be guaranteed.

During the refresh the ICT team selected Zerto for its ease of installation, simplicity and flexibility to use the public cloud as a DR site. Zerto replicated VMs within hours and enabled moving DR to AWS, eliminating the second datacenter and saving about $40,000 over three years, while delivering RTO/RPO targets measured in seconds and minutes (95% faster than the other option) and freeing ICT staff to focus on improving services.
