A ZeroFox Case Study
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the UK’s industry regulator for air travel and safety, faced a surge of fraudulent websites and spoofed social accounts after the collapse of Thomas Cook that were harvesting customer claim data and causing legitimate refunds to be rejected. To stop the scams quickly, the CAA engaged ZeroFOX and its ZeroFOX Takedown-as-a-Service™ and platform to detect and remove malicious domains and accounts.
ZeroFOX activated Takedown-as-a-Service™ within 24 hours, identifying and remediating fraudulent sites and social media impersonations; the engagement resulted in 122 takedowns across 3 protected entities and protected hundreds of thousands of Thomas Cook customers from fraud. ZeroFOX’s continuous public attack surface monitoring restored claim integrity and gave the CAA rapid, measurable remediation of emerging online threats.
