A ZeroFox Case Study

Preview of the National Hockey League Players' Association Case Study

National Hockey League Players' Association - Customer Case Study

The National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) represents NHL players and sought to protect members' personal brands and online accounts from growing social media risks — including account takeovers, impersonation, credential exposure and false affiliations. To address these concerns, the NHLPA made available ZeroFox Executive & VIP protection through vendor ZeroFox, inviting players to opt into individualized social media security services.

ZeroFox deployed personalized dashboards, step‑by‑step alerts and remediation guidance (e.g., enabling two‑factor authentication, privacy adjustments), monitored for impersonation and takeover attempts, and could lock accounts and accelerate recovery from days or weeks to hours. During the 2017–2018 season ZeroFox analyzed 9.2M posts, 52.5K images, 3.1M profiles and 2.6M links, generating 108.8K alerts, and provided ongoing breach and threat notifications to participating players.
