Case Study: SocialCode builds community and unites teams with ZeroCater

SocialCode, a technology and insights company that manages digital advertising for major consumer brands, faced a cultural challenge after integrating 39 engineers, designers, and product professionals from sister company Trove. Already providing weekly Wednesday team meals, SocialCode’s Office Operations manager Kellie Soto partnered with ZeroCater in summer 2015 to simplify planning and provide varied, catered lunches that could help bring the enlarged teams together.

ZeroCater responded by increasing the frequency of catered meals and coordinating celebratory happy hours and lunches to welcome the new team members, giving employees regular opportunities to connect. According to SocialCode, these more frequent ZeroCater meals helped create a welcoming, community-oriented environment as the company scaled — SocialCode’s business more than doubled in the 18 months leading up to the integration — and team meals remain a core part of their growth strategy.
