ikapadata, a South African research firm that publishes data on shifting semi-urban townships and trains local disadvantaged youth via a partnership with IkamvaYouth, needed to replace cumbersome clipboards and paper surveys with a fast, flexible mobile solution. To keep up with biweekly, nationwide fieldwork and achieve near-instant turnaround and higher accuracy, ikapadata turned to Zerion Software’s iFormBuilder platform and Android devices.

Zerion Software implemented iFormBuilder’s Android-based mobile data collection, enabling ikapadata to deploy devices quickly, collect near real-time RSS/XML data streams, and run automated quality checks. The result was much faster delivery and improved accuracy—ikapadata reported final datasets from up to 1,500 respondents within three weeks—reduced paper use, and the ability to push client-specific surveys in hours rather than weeks.
