American International Health Alliance - Customer Case Study

American International Health Alliance worked with Zerion Software to address loss to follow-up among children and mothers after HIV diagnoses in Zambia. Faced with limited funding and the need for a more effective way to track patients, AIHA sought a mobile solution to support follow-up care and improve HIV treatment management.

Zerion Software developed the ACT, or Accelerating Childhood Treatment, patient tracking mobile application, which was preloaded on mobile phones for facility healthcare workers, community healthcare workers, and DFZ HIV Secretariat M&E staff. The app helped track appointments, flag patients who had stopped attending care, and monitor viral load numbers. It was piloted at three sites, expanded to 12 additional sites, and is now used by 140 active users.
