Zentera Empowers Siemens for Secure Access and Collaboration, Protecting Its Data and Applications

Siemens Digital Industries Software needed a secure way to support global collaboration across product lifecycle management teams, customers, suppliers, and partners without exposing sensitive intellectual property. The company had to create and manage secure compute environments quickly for design services, trials, training, demos, and benchmarking, while meeting strict data protection and access-control requirements. Zentera Systems provided the CoIP® Access Platform, including Zentera Cloud Access and Zentera Secure Access, to address these needs.

Zentera Systems implemented micro-segmented “chambers” to isolate workloads, enforce default-block security, and enable VPN-less, policy-based access to specific resources. Siemens also used Zentera’s APIs to automate chamber setup and teardown, and deployed ZNS virtual switches across geographies for scalable, low-latency access. The result was faster secure collaboration, stronger IP protection, and improved agility without disrupting existing IT infrastructure; Siemens later extended the same approach to AWS and supported a worldwide remote beta involving participants from more than 45 companies.
