Zenobē delivers 300MW of grid stability and avoids 3.3m tonnes of CO2 with Zenobē

The customer, Zenobē, faced the challenge of ensuring reliable grid stability, which is essential for decarbonization. As renewable energy generation increases, the grid requires alternative sources of critical stability services like inertia, which are traditionally provided by fossil fuel plants.

Zenobē implemented a 300MW battery energy storage system (BESS) using grid-forming inverter technology. This solution provides essential stability services, stores excess renewable energy, and reduces reliance on fossil fuels. The result is a projected 3.3 million tonnes of CO2 emissions prevented over 15 years, less wind curtailment, and enhanced grid stability, supporting a more secure and cost-effective electricity system.
