Z Energy expands EV charging for 2 vehicles at once with Zenobē

Z Energy, a leading fuel supplier in New Zealand, sought to expand its electric vehicle charging capacity at a site in Auckland. The challenge was to increase the number of available chargers without undertaking costly and time-consuming upgrades to the local electricity grid. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Zenobē.

Zenobē provided a solution using its Powerskid, a mobile energy storage unit made from repurposed electric bus batteries. This allowed Z Energy to deploy two new 75kW fast chargers that could operate simultaneously without drawing additional power from the grid. The successful trial demonstrated the viability of using second-life batteries for commercial EV charging and provided Z Energy with a flexible, scalable infrastructure option.
