Stagecoach saves 80% on depot electrification with Zenobē

Bus operator Stagecoach faced a significant challenge in deploying its first fleet of electric buses for a Park and Ride service in Guildford. The depot's existing grid connection lacked the capacity to charge the vehicles, and a traditional upgrade was projected to take over 12 months and cost £2-3 million. This was further complicated by the potential for the depot to be relocated.

Zenobē provided a solution by installing a stationary battery with incorporated charging infrastructure and custom management software. This mobile system was deployed in just six weeks at a substantially lower cost, saving Stagecoach around 80% versus a grid upgrade. The outcome was the successful electrification of nine buses, saving 594 tonnes of CO2 and 225 kg of NOX from entering the atmosphere annually.
