Nottingham City Transport transforms Trent Bridge Depot with Zenobē to support 30 electric buses and cut 3,800 tonnes of CO2e a year

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) faced the challenge of electrifying its historic, partially listed Trent Bridge depot to support its transition to a 100% electric bus fleet. The project, supported by Zenobē, involved significant hurdles including strict heritage building constraints, a weak roof structure, space limitations, and the need to install major grid connections while the depot remained fully operational.

Zenobē delivered a complete electrification solution for NCT, which included designing a heritage-sensitive layout, strengthening infrastructure, installing 150kW Zerova DC chargers, and procuring cost-effective grid connections. The result of Phase 1 was the successful deployment of 30 electric buses. This contributed to a reported 10% rise in passenger numbers and is part of NCT's plan to avoid 3,800 tonnes of CO2e annually.
