National Grid delivers 50MW in under 10 seconds with Zenobē

National Grid, Great Britain's Electricity System Operator, needed a rapid and reliable way to deliver reserve power to manage grid frequency, a service that traditionally required large power generators to provide at least 50MW within two minutes.

Zenobē provided a solution using its portfolio of grid-scale batteries connected via proprietary software and hardware. The vendor delivered over 50MW of power in under 10 seconds, far faster than the industry standard, which enhanced system security, lowered costs, and saves an estimated 2,592 tonnes of CO2 annually.
