Aertssen saves 1,250 tonnes of CO2 with Zenobē

Zenobē partnered with Aertssen, a Belgian construction company, to address the challenge of intermittency from its on-site solar panels. Aertssen needed to secure its renewable power supply and manage energy price volatility.

The solution from Zenobē was to install a 1.4 MW second-life battery, upcycled from an electric bus, to store surplus solar energy. This allowed Aertssen to use 69% more of its renewable energy annually, power operations at night, and avoid buying expensive backup power. The project is set to save 1,250 tonnes of CO2 over 15 years.
