YRC Worldwide, a large freight and logistics company, needed a new push-to-talk solution for dispatchers and drivers after Nextel shut down its PTT service. The company also wanted to reduce very high phone costs and get better nationwide coverage for terminals and drivers, so it evaluated several options before choosing ZelloWork.

Zello implemented a PTT solution that works across carriers and WiFi, supporting about 11,000 devices and giving YRC more phone choices, better coverage, and easier communication in the field. The rollout included trainer-led onboarding and documentation for drivers, and the results included lower cellular costs that were redirected toward new devices, improved access to missed messages through Zello’s history feature, and safer, more efficient driver communication.
