A Zello Case Study
Restoration Hardware, the luxury home furnishings retailer with more than 100 stores in the U.S. and Canada, needed a reliable, unobtrusive way for store employees to communicate while helping customers. The company had been relying on bulky two-way radios and time-consuming phone calls, which clashed with its design-focused image and created added cost and inconvenience for staff.
Zello provided ZelloWork with a stand-alone Zello On-premise Server installed in each store, giving employees fast push-to-talk communication that did not depend on the internet. The solution was easy to learn, worked on smartphones and iPads, and supported Bluetooth headsets so conversations would not disrupt customer service. After testing Zello in 2013 and piloting the on-premise server in 2014, Restoration Hardware expanded the rollout to approximately 800 employees across more stores.
