A military organization, conducting operations domestically and abroad, needed a more modern way to communicate between team members and headquarters. Its teams had been relying on land mobile radios and civilian two-way radios, which were limited by distance, terrain, and the cost and effort required to install repeaters.

The organization trialed ZelloWork, using Zello’s self-hosted Enterprise Server on on-premise networks with Android devices, Windows PCs, and a gateway to legacy LMRs. Zello provided centralized management, encryption, and no distance limitations, and the proof-of-concept trials were successful with no installation or usage issues reported. If the rollout proceeds, ZelloWork is expected to support 500 to 1,000 users over a two-year deployment.
