Global Security, New Zealand’s largest locally owned security company, needed a secure, private, centrally managed, fast, and highly reliable communications network for more than 100 security guards and dispatchers. Previously, the team used RT mobile two-way radios plus cellphones as backup, but carrying two devices was cumbersome and inefficient. To simplify communications and reduce costs, Global Security evaluated Zello and its ZelloWork push-to-talk solution.

Global Security rolled out ZelloWork on Samsung Galaxy smartphones across its workforce, mapping hardware PTT buttons to mimic familiar walkie-talkie use and integrating Bluetooth earpieces and microphones. With Zello, the company gained clearer audio, minimal latency, and strong reliability, reporting no network failures or performance issues after nearly a year of use. The Zello solution also helped strengthen collaboration with local police, who were added to the network so they could request backup during emergencies.
