A Zello Case Study
ComTrans, a non-emergency medical transportation company serving Tucson, Phoenix, and San Diego, relied on push-to-talk communications to coordinate dispatchers and drivers across a fleet of about 200 vehicles and 225 drivers. When Sprint Nextel’s network shut down in 2013, the company needed a new, reliable PTT solution, as its carrier’s replacement service had spotty coverage.
ComTrans chose Zello@Work, first trialing it on T-Mobile before switching over after finding it more reliable than its previous service. With Zello, ComTrans gained carrier flexibility, BYOD support, an admin console, call history for replaying communications, and Bluetooth compatibility; the company now has about 400 devices running Zello and has been using the network successfully for 2 years.
