Commonwealth Worldwide, a large luxury chauffeured transportation company, needed a replacement for Nextel after Sprint announced the iDEN network was being dismantled. The company wanted a solution that would work with its existing Sprint data plan and support a mix of devices as it transitioned to Android. Zello emerged as a strong fit because it was fast, easy to use, and offered better functionality than the legacy setup.

Commonwealth Worldwide first deployed the free Zello app across 300+ devices, then upgraded to ZelloWork after a temporary service disruption raised concerns about reliability. With ZelloWork, the company gained secure end-to-end encryption, admin tools, and 24/7 support, while keeping compatibility with carrier networks and Wi‑Fi. Zello became the primary voice communications tool between dispatchers and chauffeurs, and by August 2014 it was successfully installed on 300+ company-owned tablets and phones along with other apps.
