Pizza Hut, a UK restaurant group employing more than 8,000 people, wanted to improve payroll efficiency and employee access to pay information. Payroll manager Tracy Summers and her team also needed faster access to labour cost data so senior leaders could make quicker decisions, but they had limited time to explore new options, so they turned to Zellis for help with their payroll systems.

Zellis carried out a health check on Pizza Hut’s payroll setup and recommended three improvements: housekeeping for former employees’ records, moving payroll processing to Zellis’ cloud servers, and running pay, bonus and expense records concurrently. These changes cut payroll processing time by 82%, reduced pressure on the team, and enabled senior management to receive key payroll data within a couple of hours. Zellis also helped Pizza Hut roll out an online employee portal, giving staff easier access to payslips and other pay information.
