Waitrose Enhances Efficiency and Customer Service with Zebra Touch Computers

Waitrose & Partners, part of the John Lewis Partnership and operating over 300 UK stores, faced an end-of-life device estate and needed a single multifunction mobile computer to support its “Working Flexibly” programme so partners could handle stocktaking, e‑commerce picking, click & collect and customer queries across the store.

Waitrose piloted and rolled out the Zebra TC51 Android touch computer based on partner feedback, using Zebra Mobility DNA (StageNow, DataWedge), app consolidation, change management and remote management/repair services (SOTI MobiControl, Zebra OneCare). The result was faster, more flexible partner service, reduced operating and maintenance costs, fewer lost-device delays, better handling of click & collect peaks, strong partner satisfaction and a secure, updatable platform for future improvements.
