A Zebra Case Study
AON Pharmacy, a rapidly growing specialty pharmacy spun out of Florida Cancer Specialists that dispenses oral oncology medications nationwide, faced the challenge of meeting URAC accreditation requirements for documented performance qualification (PQ) testing. Because many of its products are temperature sensitive, AON needed verifiable, easy-to-interpret reports proving its packouts maintain required temperatures during shipment so pharmacy staff and regulators could trust the results.
AON used Zebra TransTracker indicators and Zebra’s PPQ testing program—electronic sensors, two-phase testing with on-site support, and continuous temperature logging—to validate its standard packouts. Testing showed small shipping boxes maintained 2°C to 8°C for a minimum of 24 hours, with no medications ever falling out of range, providing the documented proof AON needed, validating its packaging, and giving the team confidence to expand and plan further testing for colder climates.
