A Zebra Case Study
Saddle Creek Logistics Services, a nationwide omnichannel 3PL founded in 1966 with a 1.5 million‑sq‑ft Fort Worth facility and 46 sites across 16 states, needed to modernize its warehouses to meet the “Now Economy.” Rising e‑commerce volumes and growing SKU counts required faster, more accurate fulfillment while keeping full‑time headcount steady and minimizing training time during seasonal peaks.
Through a phased modernization—beginning with barcode scanning and expanding to more than 1,500 Zebra mobile computers, rugged tablets and scanners (TC8000, TC52, MC9300, ET50, DS3600ER, DS9908‑R) plus ZT610 printers integrated with the Softeon WMS—Saddle Creek boosted accuracy and throughput across receiving, put‑away, inventory, picking and shipping. The upgrades increased service volume without adding full‑time staff, reduced training time for temporary hires, enabled customers to offer more product choices, and paved the way for future partial automation with robotics.
