RETIF, a European leader in professional equipment distribution with 100+ stores, 450 employees and 30,000 SKUs, faced a replacement of its aging voice-picking system. The legacy, speaker-dependent solution required each user to spend 30+ minutes training the device, lacked a display and barcode scanning, made exception handling cumbersome, and limited the ability to quickly onboard temporary staff or reuse devices for other warehouse tasks.

Working with Hardis, RETIF deployed Zebra’s TekSpeech Pro on WT41N0 wearable mobile computers (TekSpeech Pro app/client), a speaker-independent, multi-modal solution that went live in under a day. The new system eliminated voice training, added on-screen interaction and barcode scanning, improved picking speed and accuracy, increased worker comfort and satisfaction, enabled rapid hiring of temps, and boosted device utilization and ROI.
