A Zebra Case Study
Qore, a Nigerian fintech founded in 2008 and a leading Banking-as-a-Service provider across Africa, set out to solve a common banking pain point: how to issue bank cards securely, quickly and without maintaining stocks of pre‑authorised cards in branches. The company needed a solution that cut customer wait times, reduced fraud and lowered costs for banks while being simple for branch staff to operate and maintain.
Qore built Pryme, a self‑service card vending solution that uses Zebra ZC350 card printers integrated into CVMs, combined with biometric and SMS verification. The ZC350’s compact, AES‑encrypted printing and ribbon‑scrambling features protect data, and easy consumable loading plus local Zebra support keep uptime high. The result: card issuance in under two minutes, elimination of fraud from pre‑activated stock, significant cost and staff‑time savings (reducing multiple agents to a single operator), improved customer convenience, and nearly 200 CVMs deployed in 18 months with rollouts continuing.
