Mt Buller Ski Resort Puts Guests on the Slope Faster with Zebra’s Rugged B10 Tablets

Buller Ski Lifts at Mt Buller Alpine Resort, which serves more than 400,000 visitors a year, needed a reliable way to validate thousands of RFID lift passes each day without slowing lift lines. The resort required portable devices that could verify date/time and guest identity, prevent pass-sharing or fraud, and survive extreme alpine conditions (snow, moisture, cold and UV) while lasting a full staff shift on battery power.

Mt Buller deployed Zebra XSLATE B10 rugged tablets with wet/glove/pen modes, durable housings and an eight-hour battery plus a hot-swappable 20-hour option. The tablets enable instant, on‑gate pass scanning with name/photo verification and real-time location tracking, resolving issues on the spot. The result: faster lift access, reduced back-office work, higher staff productivity and improved customer satisfaction, with plans to expand RFID gates and add more tablets.
